FORM / 01
01 / Start your project

Create a document and choose an artboard size.

02 / Make it yours

Draw with the pen or shape tools. Refine nodes and appearances.

03 / Save your work

Save your project, or export the artwork from the File menu.

How to use Vector Studio

  1. Press Open Vector Studio, then choose File → New and set the artboard width and height, for example 1080 × 1080 for a square social post.
  2. Block out the design with the Rectangle and Ellipse tools. For custom outlines, use the Pen tool: click to place corner points and drag to pull out curves.
  3. Switch to the Direct Selection tool to move individual anchor points and Bézier handles until each curve sits where you want it.
  4. Combine overlapping shapes with Pathfinder (unite, subtract, intersect or exclude), or use Shape Builder to merge and cut regions by dragging across them.
  5. Set fills, strokes and effects in the Appearance and Swatches panels, and add a name or tagline with the Type tool.
  6. Save a .vectorcraft project to keep everything editable, then export SVG for the web, PDF for print, or PNG, JPEG or WebP for quick sharing. Export for Screens can output several artboards in one go; the browser downloads them as a single .zip.

Tips for better results

  • Turn on Smart Guides. Alignment hints appear as you drag, so objects line up with each other and with the artboard without manual measuring.
  • Keep an editable master. Save your project before expanding strokes or converting text, so you can still change the wording or line weight later.
  • Outline text before sending files. Create Outlines converts type to paths, so a logo looks the same on a computer that does not have your font.
  • Use Offset Path for borders. It draws an even outline around a shape, which is handy for sticker cut lines and badge rims.
  • Check small icons with Pixel Preview. It shows how the artwork will rasterize at its actual size, so you can nudge edges that would otherwise blur.
  • Put variations on separate artboards. Light, dark and single-colour versions of a logo can then be exported together with Export for Screens.

Who it is for and what it opens

Vector Studio is aimed at people designing logos, icons, stickers, posters, infographics and other artwork that must stay sharp at any size. Because vector shapes are stored as paths rather than pixels, the same file can be used for a favicon or a large banner.

Besides its own JSON-based .vectorcraft format, it opens SVG and SVGZ, PDF and PDF-compatible .ai files. Files are read locally in your browser; saves and exports arrive as downloads. If the tab reloads unexpectedly, the editor may offer to restore unsaved changes it kept in this browser, but treat that as a safety net and save regularly.

Vector Studio questions

Can I edit an SVG made in another program?

Yes. Open it from the File menu and its paths become editable objects. Check unusual effects or embedded fonts after import, since not every SVG feature maps one to one.

Should I use Vector Studio or Photo Studio?

Use Vector Studio for logos, icons and line art that must scale cleanly. Use Photo Studio for photographs and other pixel-based editing.

Does it work with Illustrator files?

It can open and export PDF-compatible .ai files. Features that exist only in Illustrator may not carry over, so review the artwork after opening it.
